I’m not openly proship to my mom for the reason that I don’t want her to know about the things people say to me about it. I don’t think any parent would like that their kid is being harassed for an opinion on censorship and the right to enjoy things. And also because, this whole anti vs pro stuff really is an online thing, most people irl aren’t really thinking about this kinda stuff except for antis and Karens who bring it into the real world.But really, my mom is pretty proship if I think about it. For one, she supports libraries, an institution that houses all types of fiction. Even the problematic kind. And also…she actually ended up reading a fanfic of mine along with loving my fanart of some of my problematic age gap ships. She has never said that she hated it or that there was something wrong with me…or even jumped to the conclusion of what I “jack to” like antis have.Either antis have no idea the true normal ones are those who don’t care what people enjoy in fiction. Or they never experienced having good parents.
