I am stepping us away from the computer for a while.
The discussion of that apparent incident of child abuse has really upset me and some of the others in the system.
I don’t want to speculate on the details of a story that we only hear one side of.
My experience with my own abuse informs my instinctive opinion that the father the abuser in the situation and is lying about his son’s behavior to make himself appear to be the victim.
My experience with the internet informs my opinion that the story is probably entirely made up.
Either way, nothing gives you the right to abuse someone, destroy their property, or hurt their animal. No mental illness gives you the right. No neurodivergence gives you the right. No position of power, or position of lack of power gives you the right.
I won’t be commenting on this situation again, and hopefully no one else from the system will be either. This is an extremely triggering topic for us, and for me personally, not one we can be objective with, and not one we want to interact with further.
