Question for proshippers: what was your introduction to the whole pro/antiship business?
For me, it was when I left a comment on a fanfic that I really enjoyed, only to have the comment deleted because I write smut. This led me down the rabbit hole of pro/antiship, and I was like “Well I’m against harassment and censorship, I don’t believe fiction affects reality on a one-to-one basis, and I don’t believe the fiction people create and consume are a direct reflection of their irl morality, so… I guess I’m a proshipper.”

A year ago we started trying to get into the community only to discover that there was a harassment and witch hunt campaign against people who had F/Os who were in high school in canon.
Despite you know, most anime characters being in high school, if nothing else.
When I came back to tumblr on my main blog in, I think, 2018?
I kept seeing a load of ‘Let people ship what they want EXCEPT PEDOPHILIA AND INCEST!’ and it always confused me? Because??? It was all fiction???
And then I started hearing more about it and realised that the divide had become a Thing™
