I want to be clear that I don’t think you should be nice, polite or respectful toward people who are being disrespectful, abusive and threatening to you.
I just think that death threats and suibaiting poison the environment more than they actually affect your enemy.
There are just better and more productive ways to silence or even be rude to people who abuse you online than threatening them.
I often respond to anon hate by joking that the anons are in love with me. Somehow that makes them angrier than anything else. However, I would never tell anyone to kill themselves, as that’s a moral line we should never cross.
Similarly Harry (😈🌺) often starts being really patient and kind and “Mr. Rogers” to them and that tends to make them upset for some reason or they just go away without replying.
