Hiya, I’m sorry in advance for using your inbox as a vent post, but I just gotta talk into the void for this one. The Genshin Impact fandom sucks, and the reason I say that is because the latest tomfoolery I’ve seen is that they harassed an English Voice Actor off Twitter because she mentioned in passing that she enjoyed two characters together, one character being headcanoned and assumed to be a minor and the other an adult, thus “bad, illegal ship!” And so you get both sides of the coin, proship and antis, theorizing and commenting on the ages of these characters to either defend or go against the ship in question. And I am just standing here, baffled. Because why the fuck are ya’ll (general) arguing over this?? Especially people on the proship side? Like it doesn’t matter?? They don’t have Canon ages, and they don’t look like a child or an adult because they don’t look human (at least to me they don’t). They aren’t going to have rights, ever. They aren’t going to praise anybody for getting their ages right. Like, it doesn’t make sense to me. Why argue to antis “Uh, actually it’s fine ‘cause they’re this age and–!” Like, don’t argue that, just say it’s not real, it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, life isn’t gonna end because of contradictory headcanons. They are 3d models in a fantasy gacha game, you’d think they would talk more about the inevitable gambling of the game but no. This is apparently what matters. Once again I’m sorry for this. I’m just – extremely tired of people placing ages on characters that don’t have one and using it for their own agenda.
