For a PR fan I’d recommend ToQger – it’s definitely on the more childish side, but it’s about imagination being able to push towards anything, and the main villain, Z, wants to capture that imagination for himself while simultaneously wanting to crush it. He’s got his goals, but he’s also envious of what the ToQgers have – their team gimmick is changing colors, so you get a male pink and everyone’s the leader! For an amazing anniversary series, go with Gokaiger! They’re space pirates who don’t care about the morals of Sentai, only that pirates do what they want. They’re hunting the greatest treasure in the universe, so they “pirate” past sentai powers. So many old suits to see! – as the series goes on you discover each member actually have kind morals underneath their cold exteriors. Zenkaiger is another anniversary season, and it leans on the comedy side so it might be a bit much, but I loved it – it’s chock full of not just sentai references, but MMPR references, due to the heavy focus on the Zyuranger series that got adapted into MMPR! Donbrothers can be hard to keep up with, but it’s a good sentai with a fun cast of characters who definitely keep up the high camp feeling of PR while adding a lot of depth. And the one I recommend MOST: KingOhger, the current Sentai. In KingOhger each of the rangers are royalty of different kingdoms, except for red – Red is a rebel who used to play the villain in games, so he takes on the villain persona, but twists it to be used for good. “If your justice involves sacrificing your people, then I’ll be the evil tyrant that opposes it, and take over the world!” – so far there’s only four episodes of KingOhger, but each has been astounding from start to finish, and I already adore Yellow’s philosophy. DEFINITELY check out KingOhger, it’s a lot less effort to pick up as well since it’s the current one and not too far in yet! – TetrapodAnon
