Discourse aside, I think “you can’t control how other people perceive or react to something” is just. An important message in general but I also feel like. Isn’t it something we learned as kids? Or were supposed to? I feel like that was a lesson my peer group was taught when we were like 7. That we can’t control other people. When did this lesson get lost?
Absolutely.
I never thought “you can’t control how other people feel about fiction” and “you can’t control the things other people do” would be something I had to tell people over and over.
I guess there are a lot of jealous, possessive, controlling people out there who never learned this stuff.
