I’m so confused (and a bit frustrated) so I hope you don’t mind if I mention this. I saw someone on twitter who identified as proship tell someone to kill themselves over the Welcome Home discourse and then proceeded to complain about antis in the fandom. Are they not an anti themselves??? I feel like anti has turned into “person I don’t like” in proship circles rather than people who actually go out of their way to be cruel or harass others over fiction. I’m relatively new to the proship community so I guess I’ve been a little taken aback at how common harassment seems to be over there, at least from my experience.
This is going to sound flippant, but I mean it in an entirely serious and genuine way.
The problem is that you were on twitter.
And twitter is a hellhole.
A significant part of the “proship” community on twitter is not fandom proshippers, but 4chan bros and kiwi farms types who want an excuse to harass people.
