what are your thoughts on headcanoning (is that even a verb,,) characters as identities that you arent? i remember when i was in the mha fandom and i mentioned how i had a transfem shoto headcanon, and was told that because i wasnt transfem i cant do that. i have mixed feelings on the topic, personally. as a proshipper i do believe that anyone can make any fiction they want (and that it doesnt reflect their morals), but i also think we should analyze fiction and how it reflects real life and politics.its a topic that a lot of people (especially antis on tiktok :eyeroll:) are pretty passionate about and id like to hear your thoughts! /gen

It’s fanfiction, you can do literally anything.
Characters in fanfiction are like playing with dolls.
You can change anything about them.
It’s okay to change a character’s appearance, identity, sexuality, job, hobbies, relationships, timeline, universe, morals, anything.
It’s fanfiction and ideas.
You can do whatever you want.
Fanfiction cannot “take away” representation that exists because fanfiction doesn’t change the source material.
The representation is still there.
People are being silly. Fanfiction is FOR changing the canon.
