It’s not my job as a (fanfic) writer to teach my audience a lesson. It’s not even my job to please an audience. My writing is for me- if I need to take out my irl emotions on fictional characters, what’s the problem? If I have unhealthy/harmful urges or thoughts, these people would rather I be in prison for THOUGHTS than “risk” someone on the internet getting uncomfortable.
We have content warnings for a reason. We have tags for a reason. We have block functions for a reason. It’s not other people’s job to protect your boundaries- it’s yours.
