What’s the etiquette for criticism on disability/minority portrayals in fanfic? Like, specifically if it’s ableist/homophobic/transphobic/racist/steryotipical/etc? Does the rule of not saying anything unless asked still stand, or would a respectful comment on it be okay? /gen q (id base this off of my experience but I’m autistic and prefer extremly direct criticism in all situations as long as it’s not straight up rude so-)
I genuinely don’t know.
I/we have never tried to give criticism to someone in fanfic.
It has always seemed inappropriate to us no matter the occasion.
