catgirl-catboy:

Some old tumblr etiquette I see being used less often and would like to bring back:

if you disagree with a post because it is inaccurate, say “cats are reptiles” brand of inaccurate, you can and should refute the post on the post. You also should provide evidence that your claim is the correct one, so people seeing the post can do their own research.

If you disagree with a post because of the views of the OP as in “science fiction is the worst genre because it is boring”, then you should NOT reblog OPs post with your disagreement. Either vaguely summarize the post “so I heard someone say that science fiction is boring!” or take a screenshot of it. (if people get heated over the opinion, you should cross out their username so they don’t get harassed!)

If you agree with OPs post, you can add on to it, but not change the direction of the post entirely. If I see the post “cakes are delicious!”, don’t write a paragraph about pies being delicious as well. However, most tumblr users like hearing the story of that one amazing cake you had once.
