Imagine if we made the same assumptions that fancops make about people who enjoy underage and shipcest stories about people who enjoyed other types of fiction.
👉 “you like slasher films? you’re either a killer just waiting for a victim and an opportunity, or you literally want to die.”
👉 “you like vore fic? you’re literally a cannibal and should be locked up for wanting to eat people.”
👉 “you enjoyed noncon? You’re a rapist in training.”
👉 “you like toxic relationships? you’re literally an abuser.”
👉 “you play shooter games? you might as well sign up for the military because you’re obviously looking for an excuse to shoot people.”
👉 “you like heist movies? you just confessed to being an actual thief.”

I’ve absolutely heard *all* of these arguments before.
but not from fancops. Fancops love to (variously) defend all of the types of media here as good and wholesome while bashing shipcest and underage fic.
So it’s not that I haven’t seen these arguments, its about putting them specifically in the context of proship/antiship discourse.
Pointing out the hypocrisy.
