1970s RE crime thriller AU pitch:
It is the summer of 1973 and Racoon City is suffering under a plague of murders and violent crime traced back to the mysterious spread of a new designer drug; a methamphetamine variant known on the street as redhead, bloodeye, zombie, tyrant, ty, or just “ the T”.
Chris Redfield, a top member of Racoon City’s elite vice squad known as STARS was on patrol when he received a suspicious tip about a T deal going down that might lead him further up the chain from the dealers to the suppliers. But when Chris arrived at the site, he discovered that the deal was being handed off by none other than his own captain, the head of the vice squad, Albert Wesker.
Shocked to his core, Chris pursues a fleeing Wesker, only to be captured and drawn into a murky spider’s web of brutal violence, seductive sin, and wicked political intrigue.
Who is Albert Wesker? Is he foe, friend, or fiend? What is the source of the mysterious new drug that’s killing Racoon City? No matter what the answers are, Chris won’t be the same by the time he finds out.
Leon Kennedy is a rookie cop just transferring into the Racoon City vice squad after working in New York City. He was supposed to be assigned to the elite STARS vice unit, only to find when he arrives that the unit has been shut down and the vice team restructured, owing to the mysterious disappearance of its captain, Albert Wesker, and his former partner Chris Redfield.
Leon’s new partner, Jill Valentine is obsessed with solving the disappearance of her friend and her former captain, despite being told repeatedly by the chief to let the matter go. Leon will have to decide what’s more important to him– his career, or the truth. Either way, he won’t escape the situation unscathed.
