wait I’m a little confused- in RE5, Jill is being basically bloodbended, like Wesker controls her body and she’s left being kinda puppetted around by the P30 and as such couldn’t really be blamed for the things she did while in his custody. But in your fics it seems like she was more of a willing accomplice???? Sorry if this comes off as rude I’m just genuinely a lil confoozled, like is it an AU or what

Alright, SO! I’m not sure which fic you’re referring to specifically since it basically comes up in all our fics that involve Jill, but the answer is the same regardless.
YES the material presented in canon states that Jill was being brainwashed/controlled by Wesker through the P30 device, and thus yes, canonically, she is not responsible for her actions.
However, we personally find that really narratively unsatisfying.
Our interpretation in our fics (which yes is not canon) is that the P30 was purely (or at least mostly) a medical device, and that Wesker compelled Jill to follow him through a combination of manipulation, drugs, and her own loyalty and choices.
We’ve written a few fics that talk about this (it comes up in the Monster’s Name was Adam.)
It’s just more emotionally powerful to us if Jill has to live with choices that she’s made, and her actions were more complex than “she was brainwashed.”
In our fanfiction we treat “Jill was brainwashed” as a convenient lie that Jill and Chris allow the rest of the world to believe in order to save her from being treated as a bio-terrorist.
