You are able to revive him.
Now you have an evil durgonbern to help you with Orin, Gortash, and the Absolute. He’s pissed things went off the rails and may be able to be talked down from following through with the plan with Ketheric dead. Or he believes you should take his place.
May be a case of villain falling for hero. May be a case of hero falling for villain.
All you know is that as the one who brought him back, you are off limits to everyone in his cult.
Even better if you can access him in Moonrise in Bonedaughter’s room instead and he helps take down Ketheric due to him allowing Durge to be attacked.
