We spent an hour trying to decide if we were going to answer this one, because *this one* really is choosing violence.

Mia Winters.
Now look, I am not going to hate on anyone who likes Mia Winters. I’m sure that they have their own shit going on, and it’s none of my business how they engage with a fictional character.
But dear fucking lord, the takes on her from fans that I have seen– I do not understand them one bit.
I say this as a villain fan. I say this as a fan who loves characters who have done monstrous and unforgivable things.
I really think I could get behind Mia Winters if people actually owned up to who she is.
Mia Winters is a woman who worked behind her husband’s back for a criminal syndicate that perpetrated an extremely monstrous kind of child slavery and abuse.
Mia Winters was directly involved in that child slavery. She wasn’t away from it at a distance.
Mia Winters whole job was to traffic a child slave.
Resident Evil 7 happens because Mia Winters could not show a single ounce of compassion for a dehumanized and brutalized little girl who just wanted to be loved.
And the majority of people who stan her don’t stan her as a compassionless manipulative girlboss gangster– which she is. I could get behind that.
But they talk about what an amazing mother figure is and how she did nothing wrong– and not in a memey way either but in a very genuine way.
And I just… I just don’t get it.
And that’s not even getting into the fact that she likely gave her actually blood-daughter Rose up to the BSAA after Ethan died.
I just don’t get it at all. I’m genuinely open to discussion if anyone wants to converse about it.
