All I’m saying is, if y’all spent less time finding new Harmless Weirdos to hate on and spent more time learning to love yourself and embrace your truths unabashedly, you’d probably see where all us Harmless Weirdos are coming from

Furries, kinksters, people who get deeply invested in a subject, “weird” NGC folk, we’re all products of the same place- people who took the leap into exploring our myriad dimensions, our peculiarities, our selves, not simply to find that which made us most acceptable, most “appropriate” to society as a whole, but who looked at what society tried to shape us into and went “no, actually, I’m not letting you define that for me,” who followed the threads of our innermost being and weaved something from it that we found we most loved, most enjoyed, that which was most… us.

We are the bullied kids who did not become bullies ourselves, the “weirdos” who either stuck to our weirdness, or found it again, because we were happiest in it. We’re strange not because something is wrong with us, but because we refused to conform to a mold we never fit. You can’t be punk, can’t be countercultural, can’t be true if your going concern is conforming to what that culture asserts is the only “right” way. My litmus test for you as a person is how you look at people like me- because in that, I see who you really are- even if you don’t want to see it yourself.

We weirdos are a mirror, a truth, and a promise of freedom- freedom that can be yours, if only you stop living for those who don’t want you to be you. We’re self-expression taken to its greatest heights- and we’re not the people you should be worried about when push comes to shove.
