I am entirely in favour of writing whatever you want to write no matter what. I just wonder, does this still count if you write about real people? Like all these kinky BTS fics for example.I’m not pro censorship or anything, I’m just genuinely curious because theoretically with these fics you can’t bring the argument that they’re fictional. Those are real people with real wishes and fears and emotions and all.
It’s a harder question admittedly. There’s definitely a different moral argument than playing with fictional characters.
I don’t believe that people SHOULD necessarily be writing porn or graphic murder fantasies of regular people they know IRL and spreading them online publicly.
But it has to be legal to do so.
Because the second you make it illegal to write fiction about real people you open the door to censoring criticism of those in power.
You have to be able to use fiction to tell everyone the emperor has no clothes.
Satire is protected speech, and you can’t stop people from writing BTS or Backstreet Boys porn, or it becomes an excuse to forcibly stop people from creating political cartoons, etc.
Also, when you’re a celebrity and a public persona, you give up certain rights to privacy. That has always been true. Having randos horny over you is a normal an expected part of being a public figure.
