things you could possibly use for your comfort

advice from the guy who spent 30 years learning its okay to make yourself comfortable

  • blankets (consider heavy weighted blankets, or breathable bamboo blankets depending in your personal taste)
  • soft/cushioned slippers
  • loose/soft elastic socks
  • compression gloves
  • hot water bottle
  • reusable gel based ice packs.
  • shower chair
  • foot rest
  • cushions for wherever you sit
  • keyboard wrist rest

feel free to add on to this, I am always looking for more ideas.

My own personal comfy items! And some items that I use regularly for self care!

  • Stuffed animals! Lots of them! Preferably of characters or species of animals you are fond of!
  • Those back pillows. You know, these things
  • Honestly just pillows for everything. On your bed. On your chair. On the floor. All shapes and sizes. I like having a pillow between my legs when I go to sleep, and pillow on my arm chair for my lower back.
  • Also neck pillows. Which I should consider one getting for myself
  • Chapstick or lip balm. Chapped, cracked lips are uncomfortable. I recommend O’Keefs lip repair if you have painfully damaged lips like I do. Staying hydrated regularly will also help with that
  • If you can get it, try CBD lotions or supplements. I have a product called Dragon Balm that helps great with aching muscles. Tiger balm is also a great non-CBD alternative
  • Eye masks that you can put in the fridge to chill. Great for headaches
  • Regular eye masks for sleep too. Making things nice and dark may help with sleep.
  • Dimmer lights! Love lamps that you can adjust the brightness of. Also check and be sure if you can change the brightness on your TV. Make sure your space has comfortable lighting to avoid eye strain which could lead to headaches.
  • Tea. Tea in general is a great comfort item of mine. Nothing sooths me like a warm cup of tea, my favorites are earl grey and lavender lemon
  • Headphones with good padding on them if this counts? I listen to music a lot so headphones without good padding hurt after a while. Keep in mind the differences between open-back headphones (which allow outside sounds) and closed-back headphones (which are noise cancelling) for your level of comfort
