I think brocon and siscon are terms we need to take away from antis too because I’m getting pretty sick of seeing them being used to refer to just normal sibling relationships.
Brocon/siscon aren’t just about sibling love, they’re about obssession and possessiveness bordering on worship. They are creepy. Many sibcons even fall into yandere tropes because their obsession with their sibling is unhealthy.
“I love my brother a whole lot” isn’t brocon. “I love my brother more than anything in the world and no one can ever love him as much as I do because only I can see how perfect he is” is brocon. “I love my brother so much that I don’t want anyone else to ever have him” is also brocon.
This is also like an explicitly incestuous trope. Even when it isn’t canon incest, it always has some level of romantic or sexual implications. You can’t use the term brocon or siscon to refer to a character and then get upset when shipcest shippers pop up lmao
