btw my ‘it’s okay to write/draw about things just because you find them hot, you don’t need a “deeper” reason than that’ post has started getting comments/tags where people agree but then go “this absolutely does not apply to [problematicâ„¢ fictional thing] btw so don’t even try it!!” and i’m tired. it absolutely does apply to those things too but i don’t have the energy to fight with people about it, or to make myself a target for harassment by responding and clarifying. people going “you’re only allowed to write about these certain problematic things if you want to explore the depths of the human psyche or something, not because you find them hot!!” is specifically why i made that post in the first place
and also it is not actually anybody’s business why people draw/write about certain things? maybe they just find it hot, maybe they’re doing it to cope with trauma, maybe they’re “exploring the depths of the human psyche”, maybe it’s all of them at the same time (because guess what: trauma are can still be sexy and sexual!)! and this “you’re only allowed to draw/write about this if i personally approve of your reasons” shit is just going to lead to people demanding to know people’s private trauma like they’re entitled to that information, and to accusing survivors of horrible things and invalidating their experiences because their trauma art doesn’t fit someone’s idea of trauma art
