The idea that blocking people who don’t treat you with any sort of human decency or respect is somehow “locking yourself in an echo-chamber” has done an insurmountable damage to the psyche.
You know what’s locking yourself in an echo chamber? Picking fights just to get that high of combat and spitting vitriol without actually engaging in any critical thinking while arguing.
If somebody’s position is to disrespect you, you as a person. You as a whole. Don’t pick that fight, don’t give them that chance. Block them.
