gonna rant a bit here as a “mlm” myself, but it makes me sick how the anti-fujoshi movement have lead others to believe that consuming BL, R-18 or not, is “immoral”.
i’ve seen so many comments from boys, asking if it’s “okay” for them to read the sexual aspects of BL.
In fact, a little over a month ago, i saw a comment from someone who claimed to be a gay man that said something among the lines of:
“okay, so i’m a guy in a m/m relationship and i get that yaoi is bad and all, but is BL just as problematic as well? 🙁 i don’t really want to be supporting it if it is. i am still allowed to read BL?”
like!!!! dude!!!!! OF COURSE YOU ARE.
YOU DO NOT NEED OTHER PEOPLE’S APPROVAL IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO READ SOMETHING.
man, antis have totally abused people like this. making people ask for their approval before they can do things. it genuinely saddens me that people feel like they need permission from fanpol before they’re “allowed” to read BL in the privacy of their own home.
read whatever the fuck you want. you are not hurting anybody. you are not “fetishizing” anybody by reading other people’s creations.
BL is not problematic. yes, even BL that showcases sex. gay sex is not dirty thing. it’s not disgusting, it’s not shameful, and it’s a very vital part of the lgbt community as well as queer history. it should not be censored or policed, and it should never be seen as problematic. i’m tired of people treating it like it is.
BL and LGBT content in general is so important, and everyone should be allowed to enjoy it.
