What’s your opinion on proship content in main fandom tags? Like when a proshipper posts problematic content and tags it with the main #.
Well fist of all, there’s no such thing as proship content, just content that would be considered taboo. And even then, taboo/dark fiction is going to have a different definition depending on who you ask.
But as for what your asking, taboo/dark fiction has the right to be on the main tags. People can filter out the tags they don’t want to see after all. And if someone doesn’t want to see a certain ship, for instance, then they can filter that ship’s tag. Even when they scroll through the main tags, as long as they have that ship filtered out, they won’t see it. The main thing I’m concerned about is making sure things are tagged appropriately, so that people can filter it out. Part of that is putting it in the main tags. The main tags aren’t always going to just be “wholesome and nice”, triggering content will be found there and it should be found there, and other tags exist so that people can curate their experiences on the main tags. Tags also allow other people to find certain content, that includes main tags. If a work of fiction has to do with a specific fandom, that work has the right to be tagged as that fandom. Just provide proper warnings and tags as well
Oh I see someone’s putting this ask in all our inboxes.
