Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?
Probably, yeah. Or just not followed them back. There are some ships we can’t handle, and some like fictional political takes (fire emblem three houses comes to mind) we can’t stomach, mostly due to being kin. Nothing against the people who are into them, we just like, can’t.
Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?*
Yeah, unfortunately. As above, it’s mostly based on kin shit and personal headcanons.
One real specific one is Kazuichi and Gundam from Danganronpa.
Fandom makes Kazu really subby and uwu and pathetic in general and especially in that ship. Our Kazuichi is definitely bi, and wouldn’t mind getting with Gundam– but our Kazuichi is also a yandere type dom, and Gundam’s way more of a sub/switch. So the way the pairing is presented is a huge turn off for both of them.
