I know what you mean about kins getting in the way of ships (well- kinda). We have a few headmates that are completely squicked by some things I would normally try out. In fact, before B showed up, I read Dead Dove fics for his character a lot. But it really upsets/triggers him, so I can’t anymore. It’s a fair trade to having someone as sweet as him here, though.
🤝 we have a few situations like that in our system, the one that was mentioned is probably the strongest one. Another one we avoid is gund/ham and Kazu/ichi because our Kazu/ichi is very dom and hates to see all the art that makes him into and uwu woobie sub boy.
Which is a shame because I really liked the pairing before the both of them woke up in system >_>
