¤ for chris and claire, ♡ for northstar and aurora!
¤ – how do the characters involved actually feel about the incestuous nature of the relationship? do they wish it had been anyone else, or did it have to be their relative?
Chris struggles with it, plagued by a lot of hesitation and guilt. She’s his little sister after all, and he can’t help but worry about the implications and taboo of it all. He probably wishes it had been someone else some times, but deep down in his heart I think it did have to be Claire.
For Claire meanwhile, the incestuous nature of the relationship is perfect. It had to be Chris. They grew up together, shared more than anyone else in their lives. Them against the world through most of their childhood. She loves him, in a very specific way, that’s inextricable from their family relationship and their more intimate one.
♡ – at what age did they start to realize their feelings for each other were a bit more than familial? if they were always incesty with each other, when did they realize it wasn’t normal? and if they met before they knew they were related, how did they find out and how did they react?
Northstar and Aurora had a difficult childhood. After the ‘death’ of their parents (Who turned out to have survived and were a couple of…prominent mutants), they were forced to go their separate ways as young children. Before then, they were inseparable. But after Aurora went to an oppressive catholic nunnery/orphanage , and Northstar into the foster system and all sorts of trouble, they drifted apart.
After Alpha Flight, when they got back together, they wound up reacquainting, celebrating the return of their sibling relationship. It wasn’t until one of Aurora’s alters spilled the beans and pointed it out that they realized the growing codependent relationship was more than just familial. That the constant contact wasn’t ‘normal’ , and in fact was a sign that other feelings had grown between them.
Aurora reacted…in a complicated manner. Due to her fractured state at times, she flipped between frustrated rebellion against her feelings and her brother’s protectiveness, and seductive attempts to flirt and cuddle up. Northstar, as he tends to do, fretted over the whole thing as well.
The moral implications and overprotectiveness kind of made the whole thing a little confusing but by that point…they were in too deep.
