re: the vore tag on tumblr being filled with antis: Yeah so there’s this whole Thing on tumblr, it seems, where people are *very adamant* about “macro/micro” meaning “nsfw/fetish size content,” and “giant/tiny” meaning “sfw/non-fetish size content” (think “The Borrowers” kind of stuff); i believed them for a good while bc that’s just what everybody was saying, and i never really looked much for g/t elsewhere. Oooh, this is just what it’s like outside of tumblr, isn’t it?” I’m told early tumblr was more like that too. I think it’s strange/interesting how they’ve seemed to.. more-or-less successfully build a sfw bubble here on tumblr? That might be neat if it didn’t involve creating confusion around definitions and harassing… (2/?📎)
… people who post nsfw in the tag, haha. …And there’s a whole long tiring discussion to be had around how one can separate out fetish vs non-fetish content when the former isn’t always necessarily nsfw, and what to do about the huge amount of minors here, but I’ve hardly seen anyone in the tumblr community who thinks of it as a kink, or anyone who seems to know about non-sexual kinks in the first place, so that’s where we’re at here. The latest Discourse to split the community has been whether the trope of a giant keeping a tiny as a pet (almost always framed in a negative light, mind you) is Making Light Of/Glorifying Slavery. :/ Anyway, sorry for the million asks. I saw the talk about vore and… I don’t get to talk about this often. lol. My dream is to some day find/make a g/t server that is both ship-and-let-ship and 18+… So far finding an 18+ one that’s not solely focused on nsfw is a challenge on its own :’) (5/5 📎)
It is really interesting to see how communities and cultures are shaped by the specific site that they’re on and the specific people involved.
It’s a fascinating subject, and so is the discussion about sexual kink vs. non-sexual kink. I hope in the future people will be less hostile when discussing that kind of thing. We’re all a bunch of weirdos, and that’s great!
