I really don’t get the (relatively) recent discourse pertaining to incest being bad and authors needing to warn about it. In my earlier fandom forays, I was in several groups specifically for incest/twincest in my fandom and… I don’t remember warning about incest being bad even crossed our minds. Like… yeah? If you see a 20 story drop on the other side of the window, what exactly do you think will happen if you jump through it??? It’s a “brother A/brother B NC17 smut” fic, the fuck do you think is in the text???Also, the vast majority of incest fics I’ve ever seen were siblings or cousins, I think the whole point is more or less playing with the taboo of having the bad sexy feelings, a story of having someone willing fight the entire society because of you is very attractive escapism. Not saying parent/child doesn’t happen, but it seems like a tiny minority. And yet these pearl clutchers scream pedo/incest in the same breath all the fucking time. The 80s are calling, I think they dropped their Bibles there.
