It’s how they were socialized.
As a fellow autistic, I don’t know what the right answer is either.
Harry (πΊπ) says the answer is “assert dominance” but I don’t trust his social skills.
Legitimately the answer is probably that it varies from person to person and situation to situation. Broadly I would approach it by apologizing briefly and moving on as if the faux pas had not happened.
