Hey, do you guys have any tips on how to deal with seeing your F/O being shipped with someone in their source material? I’m a bit self conscious and I’m scared that my F/O doesn’t like me anymore..
Oh gosh, anon. That isn’t something we really have experience with, but it super does suck…
My best advice would be to either
a) avoid the source material as much as you can, and just enjoy your F/O outside of that
b) treat ‘canon’ as an AU to your canon with you and your F/O.
Whatever you do, make sure to block all the ship tags for the pairing you’re trying to avoid on tumblr!
i wanted to add a little onto this bc i deal w this immensely.
when u filter their ship names, make sure it’s filtered tag and the filtered content. if their ship name has other variations and is in different languages, filter it. there r times where artists and writers will post their ship content untagged (sobs) immediately block them, don’t dwell on the post and doesn’t matter if u like their art style or not. block them. and don’t let it deter u from scrolling through ur f/o’s tags.
after mastering the art of blocking, filtering and being blissfully ignorant, it’s enough for me.
after doing some blocking & filtering, if ur still feeling down, indulge in ur f/o’s x reader tag, their headcanons, do some selfship ask games or use them as prompts. ur f/o’s r urs alone, they’re not gonna leave u.
