Simon Erikson does have a pretty fleshed out backstory!
Simon was born on an earth not unlike ours in the 1980’s, a foster child after the death of his parents. Put into a neglectful home, he was lonely until he met with Hazel, the lost child of the Boss and Dr. Strangelove who had been displaced through time/space at the time of her ‘death’.
As a queer teenager in the 90’s…prone to dressing feminine and often getting crushes on men (in modern terms, Simon is nonbinary and bisexual), he was often the target for harassment in his younger years. Something Hazel helped with.
Simon was always fascinated with telecommunications, often tinkering with radios and headsets that he found at auctions and garage sales with the money he earned from part time jobs. He also studied psychology, with the hope of getting a degree once he entered college, with a particular love for Jungian Psychology, and spent a lot of time training with Hazel in various forms of unarmed combat to defend himself from bullies and to keep in shape.
One day, as they were preparing for college, Hazel’s mother finished her preparations to send them ‘home’ to her home universe. Having pretty much adopted Simon as another son in spirit, he was dragged along in their jump through space/time, becoming irradiated with the energy of the rift and gaining unique powers (tied to Hazel’s).
After that, the two of them were dropped into a world of espionage and mystery, it wasn’t long before they were dragged back in time to the 1960’s, to participate in a mission to unknowingly kill Hazel’s own mother along with the man who would become Big Boss, and become embroiled in his Outer Heaven initiative.
Simon has been Hazel’s faithful comms officer since day one, and eventually gained the Chief Communications Officer position due to his unceasing service and dedication. He’s also a huge flirt and hits on most of the staff at Mother Base/Outer Heaven.
8:Does your s/i have any kind of powers?
Simon has time-based powers. Mostly these manifest as a tethering effect with his best friend (allowing him to see her time resets/follow her through time) and some slight local time manipulation.
