bro imma be honest as an outsider to all this weird shipping discourse (i saw the word used somewhere so i checked out the tag) this is just why we need more personal sites again. like it’s cool to have one central website for all fanfic ever (ao3) and i love it but idk. maybe if there are certain topics a lot of people are sensitive to there should just be a separate archive to keep peace yknow. then if you wanna read shit with incest or whatever you seek it out instead of running into it unexpectedly.

The whole problem started when social media put everyone together in one unmoderated community that isn’t easy to search or filter.
In the case of AO3 specifically, however it was actually created to be the site for the taboo stuff that no one else would host (ask me about the history of AO3).
So in that specific case the people who don’t want to see incest and underage fic should go build their own site. Lol
