Typical children at 5 yes but not all children are typical, I’ve had to reassure some kids that things that they saw on media wasn’t going to happen irl It seems like it can be a long learning process for some kids
Absolutely. All children are different, and pretending that all children develop at the same rate is both false and ableist.
It can absolutely be the case that some children take longer, or more practice and learning, to distinguish between fantasy and reality. However, the ability to do so at some point is part of typical development, and is considered a broadly desirable ability to have.
