why-is-it-always-autumn:

  • POV Outsider
  • Two or more time travelers who each think they’re the only one and keep getting in each other’s way
  • Self-Inflicted Time Loop where the only thing keeping the loop from breaking is the protagonist’s stubborn refusal to accept a less-than-perfect ending
  • So many people of so many different alignments/factions went back in time that future knowledge is essentially meaningless
  • The time travel happened in the backstory, involving a character who is not the protagonist of this story.  The changes caused by that are what kick off the real plot
  • An Alternate Universe story that reveals at the end that the world/canon as we know it is actually the result of these AU characters attempting a time travel fix it
  • The protagonist isn’t a time traveler themself, but they can remember any and all changes to the timeline, and other people are constantly getting stuck in time loops.
  • The only two people who remember the original timeline hate each others’ guts
