The kid had been violent and destructive for years, but the parents let it slide because they loved him. The parents tried to take his computer for watching hentai (which in some countries, I believe *is* illegal). The kid had a meltdown and killed the cat in a violent outburst of anger. The parent didn’t kick his son out because of the hentai, he did it because he _violently murdered the cat._ I would have feared for my safety too, honestly.
OP was very unclear on who killed the cat in original message; I assumed that it was the dad, or that the cat was killed by accident during an altercation.
Obviously, no one, not even a parent is bound or expected to suffer abuse from a violent and destructive person. If the son was violent, abusive, and destroying property, then they were also an abuser in that situation.
That said, it sound like at the end, the father was screaming that they would murder the son, and was destroying their property. That’s abusive and not justified either.
There were ways to handle the situation that did not involve violence.
