Thank you for your post about most child molesters not being pedophiles. I’d like to also add: rape itself is almost never about attraction, but about power and control. It is an act of violence that is sexual, not a sex act that is violent.

Rape–real rape, not consensual nonconsent, or rape in fiction– is a crime of assault, control and violence, not about attraction or passion.
“Child molesters” is a broad category, and saying “pedophiles” (a narrow category) when you mean child molesters artificially shrinks the number of violent criminals you’re talking about.
