When I was learning about gender and sexuality, I tried to use characters to do it, of course I didn’t get everything right because I was a sheltered middle class autistic teenager with parents who were very dismissive of that stuff. People never explained why it was transphobic though they just sent threats about it and then go “it’s not my job to educate you” Oh so you do wanna harass but not educate?
Honestly, anon, I doubt you were doing anything at all “wrong.”
They just didn’t like your art, called you a thing to try to make you stop making art they didn’t like, and when you asked them to explain themselves they didn’t have anything to explain.
