I feel like the way they behave when talking about shipping Nezha and shouting out to their fans (who likely don’t want to lose access to their comfort artist’s art) that they’ll block them if they don’t completely align with their way of thinking is… Manipulative? Cult leader-y? I’m not even sure what the right word is for it but it seriously rubs me the wrong way and I don’t think you should be using your platform to control the lives of others. Also been thinking of drawing their oc out of sheer fucking spite, because I draw what I want and it’s a damn cute oc. (i love shipping Nezha. I love Nezha related ships)
It’s big fish in a little pond syndrome.
A BNF gets popular and noticed in their fandom and suddenly they have a little clique that wants to be near them and gets a little boot-licky with ‘em.
Now, some people get real uncomfortable with that kind of behavior and try to avoid it.
Other people? Other people lean into it cause they love feeling important and the center of attention. And that’s where the manipulative and ‘culty’ feeling behavior comes in.
Don’t mess with their OC, though, pal. I can’t stop ya, but that kind of thing only feeds into drama and wank.
