I know that saying fandom 100% = real life makes you look like a huge nerd, and i am not trying to say that. But i will say this anti shit does have real life effects on people lol. A close friend of multiple years can completely flip on you and decide to go around trying to convince people you’re an evil pedophile rapist because you liked weird porn in middle/high school and made some off color jokes when you were 17. This shit does happen irl and I just felt like it’s something that should be said. Its a terrifying situation to be in. The majority of regular offline people don’t have an opinion on this kinda stuff, and people who don’t like the way you enjoy fiction can use this neutrality to their advantage. it’s fucking scary to know someone with this much private information on you can at any point decide to make it a public issue, and spin their own narrative on it.

The ‘anti mindset’ as ill call it doesn’t just exist in terminally online fandom spaces dominated by 15 year olds, the mindset is starting to leak out into other spaces, and those people aren’t necessarily gonna use the “anti” label on themselves. They’re just gonna assume it’s the default morally correct position.

I know I just described an extremely specific situation that hasn’t 100% happened to someone else, but im just saying people don’t always stop with the harassment once they go offline. Sorry for the negative post, just wanted to get it out of my system to some people who might understand.
