If is really sad when furries call each other zoophiles over liking feral stuff. That’s what people were saying about ALL furries not ten years ago, it’s probably what a lot of people still say. We’re all horrible, real-dog-molesting criminals to the wider world, because we like cartoon animals in any form—why fight internally over which form is okay to like?
It’s “geek hierarchy” respectability politics.
It’s signaling to squares and conservatives and karens that “hey, we’re not like these other, worse freaks. you can totally include us in your in-group! we’re normal!”
