Once while working at a nursery, I read a little red riding hood story where the kind woodcutter was the one out to hurt her and the wolf was just trying to return something she dropped. I think the point of the book was evil doesn’t have “look” to it or something.
I think there’s a lot of value in turning some fairytales on their heads that way.
The morality of many (not all) fairytales is inherently regressive and supportive of the status quo, especially with regard to the moral value of physical beauty vs ugliness.
