I gotta be honest: maybe the “chronically online” and “go touch grass” crowd MAY have had a point about 20 years ago. But it’s 2023. The Internet is so pervasive and so woven into our lives now that you can’t escape it if you want to function in society. (Or if that’s too complicated for antis to understand: being nice isn’t that hard.)
The Internet is pervasive.
It’s part of all of our lives.
And people should be nice.
But also…
The people who are “chronically online” are the same people who have a reason to be online all the time.
Disabled people. the chronically ill. Housebound people. Autistic people. Mentally ill people.
Calling people chronically online is almost always ableism.
