I’m sure this sounds rude, but I’ve seen so many posts in the proship tag that lack critical thinking and are just poorly argued that I’m wondering if using the label at all is helpful. I am still proship by the actual definition of the term, but this community feels so… cliquey? Like it feels like quite a bit of people in the tag are quoting anti rhetoric and just not believing in what proship used to be. Its frustrating and feels complicated, and I’m just not sure what to do about it. I’ve blocked quite a bit of the users, but they keep coming!
I’m not sure which users you’re seeing, or which arguments you’re talking about anon, but in any community (that isn’t heavily moderated) you’ll always see people on your side who argue poorly, or who seem like jerks.
We used to use the phrase “stop being on my side, you’re making my side look stupid” a lot.
Remember, ANYONE can use the proship tag. There’s no bar you have to pass to be able to use it.
That said, maybe I’ve already blocked the people you’re talking about because I can’t think of anyone in particular (who I don’t already have blocked) who fits that description for us.
