When you brought up Leon x Ashley from Resident Evil, I was thinking, “it’s probably because people were “minor-coding” Ashley because she’s seven years younger than Leon.” Honestly, I’m neutral about the ship, I think it’s fine, it’s harmless (like all ships are, because it’s fiction), but I have a huge issue with people that “minor-code” a 20 something year old female character. The term “minor-code” is a term that I think shouldn’t exist. But that’s just a me thing and I pretty much avoid people who used that term.
Right?? Minor coding is ridiculous– especially in a case like Ashley. They say her age. She’s in college. She makes the first move on Leon. How can anyone say it’s problematic?? They’re just looking for an excuse to hate on it.
