Let me just say this now:
To all writers who feel uneasy to write a perspective they themselves don’t agree with because they’re afraid that their readers will misunderstand and will make untrue claims about them: don’t worry so much about that. That is their problem, not yours.
You can only do your part in this world. If your part includes writing a story in a perspective that opposes your own, then do it. There is no rule that says your characters and stories have to share your views.
Otherwise, there would be some really concerning writers out there, including me.
