This has been bothering me and I kind of wanted to talk this out in your inbox if it is alright. That post with the tag DNI if you’re attracted to Jafar post is, what does that person think attraction is exactly? To be putting up a boundary on someone’s attraction, a trait that has no moral or personal connection and is a thing that happens whether one likes it or not. There’s plenty of experiences of being attracted to people one doesn’t like or doesn’t have interest in, it’s just a normal experience of life yet this person is treating it like a moral failing purity has gone too far ⸻ risefromhell
I see this kind of thing a lot from various groups that are controlling of other people.
DNI if you like x. DNI if you’re attracted to x. DNI if you have x as a kintype. DNI if x is your hyperfixation.
These type of people treat things that are completely involuntary internal experiences as if they are
A) something voluntary you can turn off at will
B) something external that will affect them merely by being near you.
Back in the alterhuman community 5-7 years ago during the early rise of anti culture we saw some loud voices who were telling people that they were morally obligated to “drop” kintypes and fictives that were villains, or that were characters of another race than the person’s body.
It was extremely destructive and reductive behavior that refuses to acknowledge that the experience they were trying to control was involuntary.
Just like attraction.
