I wish more people understood that you can have hard limits and boundaries when it comes to fictional content you enjoy without insinuating that anyone who doesn’t share similar opinions is some kind of freak/pervert/monster.

I think you missed the point here, friend. This post is indeed about “problematic” ships and characters, and I am a proshipper.

It’s totally fine if you don’t vibe with certain ship dynamics or tropes. That’s cool, I get it. There are a lot of things I don’t personally enjoy either. But liking a fictional ship is not illegal. No, not even if the relationship would be illegal in real life. It’s fiction. It’s ultimately not real, and the characters involved aren’t real people who can actually be harmed.

I mean, if you really want to use that logic, you ship two characters from a horror game. One of which is a murderer, and the other, a (potential) victim. How would that not be considered “problematic”? And that’s a genuine question. What’s the difference? Why is that morally-questionable-if-irl ship okay? But someone liking a different morally-questionable-if-irl ship involving an age gap is gross? Does that mean you condone murder? No, of course not, right? Then… what makes you think other people condone the things they like strictly in fiction?

I apologize for the rambling. This got longer than I intended. Feel free to block me rather than reply. I hope you have a pleasant day.
