Heya, just dropping this here because I don’t really have anywhere else to. :’| So my joyfriend has been pro fic for a long time but today said that he might be more neutral, which is fine, but he also said some stuff abt how sh○ta and relative x relative “rots ur brain” and made him fantasize/have nightmares abt abusing a family member. I don’t really care if he’s just decided to back out of the discourse because it’s irritating but it sounds to me more like he’s backsliding into becoming an anti, which is scary to me because he knows enough that he could potentially doxx me if he decided I was too problematic or something. I’m afraid that if we separate he’ll like make a callout post abt me or something. I’ve known him for years and I can’t see him doing something like that, but I also never would have imagined him walking back on being pro fic, so idk what to expect anymore. Thoughts? Advice?
My advice is to come at this from a non-fandom angle.
Show him that all the “porn rots your brain” etc sex negative “research” actually comes from hyper conservative christian sources.
Make it a human sexuality issue, instead of a fandom issue and maybe he will understand where you’re coming from.
Is this person someone who knows you well IRL, or someone you’ve been dating exclusively on the internet? My advice for how to handle a potential breakup will be different depending on which.
